wetherspoons pubs jobs
Uni part time job?

I am going to uni and am a little unconfident when it comes to starting a new job. I don’t fancy working in a pub. tried it at wetherspoons and they never trained me at all which made it so hard and stressful. I told them I have never used a till before or worked with the public. It has put me off in working in a pub. The thought of it scares me and I don’t want that sort of stress.
Has anyone good any good suggestions as to what a good part time job at uni would be, that has flexible hours and may have evening options too?

Yeh, shop work.

It’s p*ss easy. You can doss without usally getting fired. You get to meet usually another large group of people.

PLUS, it will help to slowly build you confidence in dealing with the public and people generally.

I never had confidence issues when i started uni 3 years ago now, but of couse i have grown up a hell of a lot and i am way more confident as a person.

I too got shop work (for money, not confidence!) whilst at uni and it’s easy money, and usually you’ll be working with other school/college/uni sutdents, which is cool – a good mix of people.

Anyway, a big PLUS is actually going to uni in the first place. Now that you are away from home, I can guarantee that at the end of the first year, you will look back to your first day there and see how much you have changed!

You will be a completely different person and uni is a great way of growing up and getting a very good level of confidence.

Make the most of it (ESPECIALLY in your first year, which is basically f all work but a hell of a lot of drink!), and if you dont ever end up using your degree, the experience itself is worth it.

Just be sociable and make sure you quickly get to know your hallmates to settle yourself into uni life quickly!
