Anyone from California that knows alot about your colleges?
I am currently attending a community school, looking to transfer soon. I’m afriad that the UC system is too tough for me and i’m really considering a CSU school. I am looking for a school that is very student oriented with clubs, activities, lots of students living on campus, dorms, sports, outside activities, bars, but also a good business program. I hear that San Jose State was the best choice for my needs, any advice?????
You should always attend the best school you can. If you are accepted to the UC system then I suggest you go for it. You will just need to work extra hard and party less.
Most UC schools have excellent campuses with most students living on campus. They are also in great college-towns. Few CSU schools are like this.
San Jose state does not have a great on-campus community as most students commute to school. The clubs and activities are good and it is located downtown. Unfortunately, San Jose isn’t that great of a college town / city. It’s just OK.
I suggest you visit all of the schools in the area so you can see first hand what they are like. You can hire a college advisor (like me) to help you and your parents in the selection process if you need additional help.
