sports bar lights
How do I fix my Wii sensor bar so I get pointer functionality back?

My Wii has been working fine for many months, but now the pointer is stuffed. The buttons (like home, +, -,1, 2) still work and motion sensing works (i can play wii sports for eg). Its just the pointer (the little hand that is used for navigation) that wont work. the pointer will appear if i stand very close but it easily moves off the edges of the screen and disappears entirely when i move further away (where I normally stand and it normally works).

I know this is a problem with the sensor bar, but how to i fix it? i haven’t changed anything, i know im not standing too far away, i dont think there is a problem with a light source… and the sensor bar is plugged in.

any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks
adjusting the sensitivity hasnt done anything.
i did buy a new TV recently but the pointer always worked on it until now.

Go to the sensitivity settings again.

Check what the Wii remote sees is really only two dots, and nothing else.

Make sure, there isn’t another infrared light source nearby, that could confuse the remote like a candle or a bright lamp on the wall where your TV is.

When on the sensitivity settings, point the remote to your TV and move it around a bit, to check if the remote suddenly “sees” another infrared light source.
