Best Flooring for a Concrete Basement?

I am finishing finish my basement and the previous owner had purgo (not sure if spelt correct) and it was real spongy and wasnt done well so i pulled it up. now in the bar area i plan on doing tile and i was thinking of re-doing the purgo again because i intend on doing a boston celtics themed sports bar in my basement. any suggestions appreciated

If you mean spongy as in just walking across it or spongy in it has absorbed moisture? Spongy walking is usually caused by 1 of 2 things.. Un flat floor will cause it or poor cuts ( not enough gap) and the floor has expanded and is hitting a solid object.
If its spongy from moisture put plastic sheeting down plus your foam under layment, flashing both up the wall 3 “. Don t ever use just tar paper. You must use the foam underlayment.
Best flooring for slab, I d choose tile but , because that’s my main back round. But a good laminate , properly layed will work fine..
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. I ve attended several installation seminars as well as installed a few 100,000 s/f.
And its Pergo for the spelling. GL
