What are Irish pubs like? How old do you have to be to get in to them?
Hi. I’m American. I’m 16 and next summer my friends and I are going to Ireland. We’re going to go to Dublin and then try to go to some smaller towns and less tourist-y areas (any suggestions??) and we wanna know if we can get into pubs and order beer. What are Irish pubs like? Do normal people hang out there?
You have to be 18 to buy alcohol in Ireland, sonny boy. You’ll be asked for ID. You’ll be told to leave by a certain time.
And no, just because you’re American doesn’t mean that this law doesn’t apply to you too.
