pubs and directives
Are we truely free?

If i drive in Central London it costs me about seven quid going up to ten quid soon, if i park the car it costs me ten quid, if i park too long it costs me eighty quid, towed away it gonna cost me a hundred and fifty quid. If i want fuel 80% of the cost is tax, if i want a smoke i am taxed 75% of the cost, i want a drink it gonna cost me 65% tax. Next year i wont even be able to go into a pub for a drink and a smoke, not because of complaints from other customers but because we have to comply with european directives on passive smoking. When are we gonna stand up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Who exactly was it that told you that you were free? Hey, it sounds to me like you have a lot of habits.. You smoke their butts, use their gasoline, drive on their highways and spend their currency – and then they have to pay someone to tow you away.

Freedom is a matter of degrees and state of mind – What you are free to do is make your own choices and I understand that elections don’t offer too much in the ways of alternatives.. but don’t forget that there are choices – when it annoys you enough you will make the ones that are appropriate to you. I have always felt that people cannot even begin to count how much they are taxed.. you are only scratching the surface.. How much of the cost of bringing your food to mkt is consumed in tax? My guess is that for most people, as long as they can aford to have a car and dirve to their pub etc.. they won’t do much of anything other than complain..
