Female Lead Singer in 1973 Top 40 Band USA?
My friend was the Female lead singer in a Top 40 Band back in 1973 when she was 20 yrs. The group had 5 members and they tour all across the 48 states starting out in Nashville Tn. She said they played a lot of military bases as well as lounges and clubs. More up scale places then just local bars. They pretty much had a gig every Friday and Saturday nights, sometimes Sunday. They toured for only 1 year before she quit to get married and start a family. She even had a single released as a single artist before she quit. I seen her income tax statement from back then and she made just over $11,500.00 for that year. So if she had the same success today, what would her income be. You think maybe 75k?
i’d guess over $100,000. i think my parents bought their house in 1972 for $12k and just recently sold it for $140k so if inflation and stuff is the same as a house increasing in value that would be about right but i’m guessing that’s the way it works
