night club new orleans
Looking for a specific nightclub in New Orleans?

There is a night club that a coupel of my friends were telling me about in New Orleans called La Fleur or La Flair or something. It’s supposed to be not on bourbon and the best one in New Orleans area and supposedly the place where the celebrities go as well. Any help is appreciated

The best hang out place for nightclubs for celebrities, and everyone else, in now on Frenchman Street in the Faubourg (neighborhood) Marigny (just outside the French Quarter). It’s the new “bohemia” and many small casual clubs are featuring talent that will be national headliners in the near future. No place like “LeFleur” rings a bell, but the fleur-de-lys is the symbol of the city (and is on the New Orleans Saints football helmets). The fleur-de-lys is everywhere and on everything.

Frankly, New Orleans is not, and never was a Hotel spot. Anything you get in a hotel, food or entertainment, is strictly tourist fare and second rate. Also, it is very “un-cool” for celebrities to act like celebrities in New Orleans (this is not Los Angeles). There are plenty in town, bot as visitors and residents, but they simply blend in and do not congregate anywhere where they would be obvious. The more low key a club is, the more respected it is. Like the food here, it’s about the quality of the product and not the “showiness.”

Snug Harbor and the Blue Nile are highly respected on Frenchman Street. In the French Quarter it’s Preservation Hall or Donna’s. Sometimes the Howling Wolf in the Warehouse District does well. But, there are all new places so you should check the local scene in papers like Off Beat and Where Y’At.
