Sponsorship for a Country club/pub in the UK?
I answered someone else’s post on country music (or lack of it in Europe) and thought I’d throw the idea out to y’all too….
…I’m looking to open a country pub/bar in Brighton (UK) – pretty much like Stoney’s in Vegas…flair barman for your cocktails, dancefloor, country DJ and NO line-dancing!!
Where would I look at getting sponsorship for opening such a venture? It’s too big for me, financially, to take on by myself. I was thinking along the lines of the MusikMafia or US channel, GAC…but I can never find a direct address/relevant contact.
Any ideas, opinions, advice would be really appreciated as I reckon once people get over the initial shock of such a thing in the UK they would absolutely love it!!
Thanks guys.
I think in the current climate you are making a bad decision. Given that any barman with flair skills is going to want more money than the national minimum wage. Pubs are closing up and down the country due to the smoking ban, high beer tax, falling trade due to the credit crunch and people generally looking for cheap drinks and meal deals.
It also sounds as though you are planning on biting off more than you can chew. You would be better off looking for a business partner than a sponsorship deal.
Would country music really work in the UK? I mean i know brighton has a big alternative scene, but country? I can’t see it.
