karaoke bar sf
is there a famil-friendly karaoke place in sf bay area?

Am looking for a place where under 21 is allowed and appropriate Not a bar, more of a family style restaurant atmosphere. Thanks

I don’t know of karaoke restaurants; however, there are a few family-friendly karaoke parlours in the East Bay. They don’t have restaurants per se, but you can rent out lounges with karaoke equipment by the hour. Lounge sizes vary to accomodate small and large parties. The lounges are private — it’s just you and your party, which is great for a lot of folks because you don’t have to be worried about singing in front of strangers. The rooms have sofas, a table, and a TV that serves as your karaoke display.

There’s a karaoke place in the Ranch 99 Plaza in El Cerrito just off the 580 (you can see it from the freeway). There are several restaurants in the plaza, so you can do dinner first then have 2 or 3 hours of karaoke.

Otherwise, there’s a karaoke place in Oakland at 40th and Telegraph. It’s grittier ’cause of the neighborhood, but my friends and I went there quite often.
