Karaoke bars in Tucson, AZ?
I am going to Tucson this weekend for a wedding. I was looking for some fun things to do while I am there. I was thinking maybe a karaoke bar or any kind of cool bar will work. I actually lived in Tucson when I was young and I know my parents went to a country bar called “Wild Wild West.” I tried finding it on the internet but had no luck. I found a website which mentioned this bar but said the name was changed to “The New West” but I can’t find it on the internet either. Does anyone know if this place still exists?
“Wild Wild West” sounds vaguely familiar, but I’m fairly certain that it’s closed. If you had an idea of where it was, I could probably tell you what it is now.
Edit: Found it in the Tucson Weekly archives. It’s now Bedroxx (a bowling alley) and a Hooter’s location. It’s been closed since at least ’96.
For karaoke, it kind of depends on your age range and scene. For instance, there’s the Best Western on Stone, which has it Friday and Saturday nights. It’s a weird bar, but they generally get a 20-something crowd.
IBT’s also does it most nights, but that’s a gay bar.
Then there’s Trident, which recently started doing it on Fridays, but they get a frat/sorority crowd that’s obnoxious if you’re not like that.
