There is a staggering number of Irish pubs in the USA
Could there be more than in Ireland itself
For a small country we have alot of pubs. For example in my home town there is a population of 4,000 with 22 pubs. The population of Ireland is roughly 4 million. If the same ratio exists then 22,000 pubs are in the Republic of Ireland. Pubs for Irish people arent just about drinking it is part of community life and is a fulcrum for alot of activity, particularly in rural areas.
