What happened to all those Great Stand Up Comics Labour Clubs in the 80's and 90's
If you are old enough to remember the boom the comedy of the 80's and 90's I remember some very good comics, too. The rise of comedy for those of you who do not know it was a moment in comedy clubs exploded in popularity. Before that time comedy clubs were found in big cities like New York and Los Angeles.
When the boom hit comedy of cities that never had a club suddenly had a number of them. At one point there were seven clubs in Phoenix and the city was much smaller than it is today. Even small towns had one nighters in hotels and pubs that were packing in crowds.
Pushed by the cable TV shows as "A Night at the Improvisation "and another five minutes could push a comic set unknown to headliner status in a matter of days. Filled comedy clubs pay amounts laughter coverage offers plenty of stage time for comics to develop there skills.
Today we enjoy the talents of those developed comic skills during this time as Tim Allen, Ellen, and Jay Leno to name a few. Most all the plays that we enjoy today are the result the creative process began at this time.
Although today we are not as numerous comedy clubs, which have the pool open a lot of talent choose. Many of the big headliners do not have the sort of big hit followed in carrying out and perfecting skills on stage. The quality of the talent of a club comedy or comedy has never been better and the fan has a great opportunity to see a polished and professional act.
The sad part of show business is talent is not what determines the climate some became famous or not. In many cases, less talented were lucky or was in the right place at the right time or just looked like desired.
We call this talented group of comedians who have become stars instead of the big stars funnier than famous. The good news for fans the comedy is that you can still go see them at a great price in the local comedy club.
This is not to remove the achievements of those who did become stars dinner. We are fortunate that they did. We just want to let you know about gifted comics others are still hitting the road working the comedy club's stage and we hope some of them before getting the vaccine over the next level. For now, if you have the opportunity to see them go so worth the cover charge.
