NYC.. Going to a Yankee and Mets game in the next few weeks.?
Going to a couple games while in NYC and wondering if there are cool sports bars near Shea and Yankee Stadium? Recommendations would be great!!!
There are two bars near yankee stadium of note. One is right across the street under the train and i think is called Stan’s or something like that. The other one I am a little more familiar with; it is called Yankee Tavern and is on 161stst about one block east of the stadium. (The train is on the east side of the park) Don’t be cute and wear any other team’s colors there,you may get hurt if you do. Seriously!
I know of no such places near Shea, but they have all kinds of great ethnic restaurants along that subway line. Flushing Main Street is known for Korean and Chinese food. Heading back towards Times Square you have Latin restaurants the first couple of stops, Indian restaurants around 74th st, a few old Irish places by 61st st, more latin places from there back as far as 38th st. I wouldn’t advise getting off the train between there and Manhattan, though. I don’t know of any good food opportunities and the neighborhoods can get rough.
