Is Georgia a good place to be discovered and launch an entertainment career?
I have heard Atlanta has lots of record companies, tv /cable stations and clubs for comedy , drama and music. Is it true? is it worth moving down there in this bad economy? It’s cheaper than LA but I still need a job and a place to live.
If you are interested in acting, check out www.chezgroup.com. They are one of the biggest, if not the biggest, casting agencies in the South. Georgia also has great tax incentives for the film industry. That may not seem important to lots of people, but believe me, it is. That means that there is and will be lots of television shows and movies made in the state.
North Carolina and Louisiana also have great film industries, and the cost of living is significantly lower than Los Angeles. You should check out the film office websites of different states that you are interested in possibly moving to. Feel free to call them as well, and ask as many questions as you would like about the industry, job opportunities, etc.
