What are the best breweries/brew pubs in the Washington, DC/Winchester, VA area?
I’m a big craft beer fan and love to hit the local breweries whenever I travel. I’ll be in the DC/VA for work in a few weeks and wanted to know where I need to go. Thanks!

Look for places along 66, around The Plains, or down 81 toward Luray.
Up 15, to Leesburg – there’s a couple of good places I’m told.
DC itself:
Brickskeller. The grand dame of beer bars, walls still lined with a formidable beer can collection. Rotating taps of micros and crafts, and 300+ bottles.
Rock Bottom and Capitol City are brewpubs, and get a few nods now and again. Gordon Biersch: beer yes, food no.
