Hawaii – best island to visit when vacationing there????????
never been to hawaii, more into scenic qualities and natural beauty. not into clubs/dance/drinking scenes. which island is the best to stay ? Also, how much $$ usually is package deals (flying from toronto) thanks guys
SHORT VERSION:
1. BEST ISLAND: If you are interested in natural beauty and scenic qualities, I would probably recommend Maui + a trip to Lanai or Molokai overall. Another great choice (especially if you have at least 8-10 days or so) would be the Big Island, because right now there is lava flowing near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
2. COST: This will vary widely from several hundred to several thousand dollars per person, depending on the island, add-on activities (like snorkel tours etc.), length of stay, etc. Check orbitz, tripadvisor, kayak.com, etc.
LONGER VERSION:
All the islands have good beaches, although you might end up driving a little more to get to them on the Big Island. So you really have to choose based on what else you want.
Here are some key words, along with the best islands for each (no particular order) and a link to photos/more info:
