What are the best bars/clubs to go to in Austin, TX?
Im from So Cal and Im going out to Austin to see my parents with two of my friends. We want to go out dancing one night and bar hopping another. What are some of the best bars and night clubs (top 40/ hip hop music) to go to in Austin?

Go downtown to the 6th street entertainment district if you want to be around a bunch of drunk college students. There are dozens of clubs in a small area so you can hop around from one club to the next. There is also the Warehouse district on 4th street that is more in touch with the gay scene. That is a better place to go if you don’t want to put up with as much testosterone, at least from the guys! I would think that there is a better dance scene there. It is only a few blocks from 6th street. If you are into the Mexican discoteca scene, there are a lot of small, sketchy looking clubs on the east side. I haven’t ever been to any of these though.You could always look on yelp.com to see some of the reviews and go from there.
Long story short, I would suggest 6th street for barhopping, 4th street for dancing. Have fun and be safe! Make sure that you have a safe ride home. There are a ton of cops downtown, especially late at night. Also, trying to get a cab when the bars close at 2am can be a nightmare.
