Anyone have any suggestions for a pub crawl in uptown Dallas?
I’m from out of town, staying in Dallas for a bit for work. I’m trying to put together a pub crawl. Everyone is staying downtown, so I think uptown is our best bet. Any suggestions about places to go to?
Just walk down McKinney Ave. I’d get a cab (or DD) to drop you off at The Loon (where they make ridiculously strong drinks). From there you can just walk your way back toward downtown. As you’re heading south you might drop in at Quarter Bar, then Frankie’s.
Past Frankie’s, there’s about 3 blocks with no bars (chance to sober up a bit if you walk it).
Once you get to southern McKinney Ave, You can try Christie’s or McKinney Ave Tavern (both sports bars). I’d check out the Gingerman on Boll St, its a great place for beer snobs. Then the Idle Rich. Then finish it off at Uptown Bar and Grill, where they have a pretty awesome karaoke on the weekends.
After the bars close you can stumble across the street to Dickey’s BBQ to get some drunk chow. Then grab a taxi back to the hotel.
