best casino/hotel to stay at in atlantic city for a good deal please help!?
i’m turning 21 in june so my husband and i are thinking of going to atlantic city in july. we’re both vegans, so restaurants are hard to come by. asian is probably best or basic italian.
what casino hotel is the best to stay at? i heard tropicana is selling, so i doubt i’d win anything in their casino.
do not want to stay at the borgata. harrah’s maybe, is it good? i know they have a total rewards program so i was thinking either showboat or bally’s but i have heard some bad reviews on bally’s.
what if i stayed one night at one hotel and the other night at another. we’re going for two nights. monday, and tuesday night.
how is the hilton at a.c., is it really too far? i don’t mind to walk. i want to go to ripley’s believe it or not museum, which one is close? also, we’re not into clubbing or anything. some shopping, gambling, pool time and alone time!
do any of the basic rooms have bath tubs?
THANKS!!
First, Happy Early Birthday! You’re going to have SO much fun there!
I’ve stayed in a few different hotels down there as my mom LOVES Atlantic City and I’ve been going there for years and years.
Bally’s is actually not that bad. It’s not the worst. Tropicana is worse than Bally’s in my opinion. The rooms are a far walk from the Casino floor and one of the times I went the room was FILTHY and the beds were unmade and it was 4pm!
Borgata is AMAZING!
Trump Taj Mahal would be my next choice, actually, I would take the Taj over the Borgata, but the rooms, even the basic ones at the Borgata would make you feel like you’re in a 5 star hotel suite in Manhatten you can go to their website and check them out.
Actually, you can go to any of the casino’s websites and look at their rooms before going there. They’ll show you the basic rooms to the suites. I’ve stayed in the suites and the regular rooms at the Taj and they’re both great.
Before you decide, do a search on a few of the hotels you’re considering staying in, go to their websites and it will have links to booking rooms, availability, etc, and it will show you pictures of the rooms, suites, etc, and even the dates the rooms are available and the costs of the rooms. Sometimes booking the rooms online are a better deal than doing in on the phone, but I would call after doing that and make sure your reservation went through. I’ve never done it that way, but I heard that there are deals online that aren’t offered when you call. I would just call and confirm everything.
I’ve stayed at Ballys, the Taj, Tropicana, and my mom stays at the Borgata all the time. I really like the Taj, and Bally’s is not bad at all. I really don’t like Tropicana. It’s not horrible, but would only stay there if I had to.
I do like Borgata, but it’s not near the boardwalk, etc like the rest of them are.
Bally’s is kind of in the middle of everything. The Trump Taj Mahal is at the very end of the boardwalk where the amusment park is, so everything is a long walk, aside from the Hard Rock restuarant, which is in the Hotel.
I can’t remember how far Bally’s is from Ripley’s, it’s not that far though. As for Tropicana selling, they’ve been expanding, so I haven’t heard that, they’ve been building on.
For shopping, INSIDE the Tropicana there is a little center you can go shopping in that’s really cute. I actually liked that a lot. There’s also a few restuarants, but being vegetarians, you won’t enjoy them. It’s Hooters, Corky’s ribs, etc.
There’s also a big Outlet Center by the Tropicana, it’s a few blocks away, you can catch a cab and they all know where it is. You can get any doorman down by the valet parking to get you a cab, in fact, they’re usually lined up there, and they ALL know where the outlet center is. LOTS of clothing stores, etc.
There is also the mall on the boardwallk with lots of high end stores, Michael Kors is in there, Judith Ripka, Coach, Bebe, a candy store, another actually $10 jewelry store, fashion jewelry of course, a store called black and white, Louis Vaitton, etc, is in there. It’s definitely worth checking out and it’s really a mix of high end and some regular store. That’s a mall on the boardwalk that opened less than a year ago.
There’s also some shopping on the boardwalk. Your regular boardwalk shop and sundries stuff, candy store, food stuff, a magnet store, a surf store, etc. There’s even a Greek restuarant on the boardwalk.
I would check out the places you’re thinking of staying and go to their websites and check out their rooms. They even list their restuarants which would help you. The Taj Mahal just put in a lot of new restuarants you can see if any have what you and your husband like.
I hope some of this information helps you. I hope you enjoy your trip and that you have a very Happy Birthday! Good luck in AC!!!
